Dear Friends,

I have three great loves in my life; my family, the Destin charities of Harvest House and Hosanna House, and HIKING.  Now that I am finally retired I am able to spend more time on the hiking part.  In 2010, my wife Claire and I opened Hosanna House, a residential facility for women who needed a second chance in life, or as our mission statement states, “a new beginning.”  Since Hosanna House began operation, many women have found new life through this Christ-centered ministry.  We have consistently witnessed life changing restoration and renewal in the lives of the many women who have come.

Hosanna House is debt free and operates on a very tight budget.  We have a big facility with many programs and lots of mechanical things that require upkeep. So far we have been able to keep up but currently we need to replace four ageing air conditioners that really should have been replaced two years ago.  The approximate cost to replace all four will be $25,000.

I’m hiking the Florida Trail as a charity hike to raise the funds necessary to replace these air conditioners.  The trail stretches from Ft. Pickens in Pensacola to Big Cyprus National Preserve in South Florida at the southern terminus.  The total distance is about 1,200 miles.  I plan to start the hike October 1st, 2015, and should be finished in approximately 3 months. It will be a difficult hike with heat, insects, snakes, alligators and swamps, especially at the South end.

My hope and prayer is that I can find sponsors who are willing to pledge $1 per mile for this hike. Any pledge amount is appreciated, even a one-time donation.   ALL proceeds will go directly to Hosanna House for equipment repair and ministry support.  All who make a pledge will receive periodic updates and pictures from the trail and a 501-(c)(3) donation letter when funds are collected.

Please support my efforts to raise funds for Hosanna House. I’ll keep everyone up-to-date on my progress through this website and our email list.

Thank you and God bless you,

Jerry “T-Bone” Ogle
